Vodafone invests Rs 150 crore in Assam, launches 4G in Guwahati

Vodafone 4G in GuwahatiTelecom operator Vodafone India, which has made investment of Rs 150 crore in the first half of fiscal 2017 in Assam and North East circle, announced the launch of 4G in Guwahati.

Vodafone India’s total investment in the Assam and North East circle till date is Rs 2,200 crore. The Indian mobile service provider invested Rs 150 crore to expand, modernize energy efficient network to meet customer demands.

Vodafone has 290 Vodafone branded stores in Assam and North East circle to serve its 5.5 million customers.

The company said its 4G services will be expanded to other towns by March 2017. Vodafone said SuperNet 4G services are available in Tinsukia, Sivasagar and Bongaigaon in Assam over the past few days.

“Vodafone’s global expertise and experience of launching 4G across 20 countries gives us a better understanding of this technology and the needs of the 4G customer,” said Naveen Chopra, chief operating officer of Vodafone India.

“We will soon expand our VodafoneSuperNet 4G services across the state as well as other parts of North East in a phased manner,” said Alok Verma, business head – Assam & North East Circle, Vodafone India.
