The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has launched the Network Anubhav Platform, a geospatial analytics dashboard designed to improve transparency in mobile network performance, broadband speeds, call quality and telecom service coverage across India.

Launched on November 4, 2026, the platform allows consumers to examine location-specific network test results, compare telecom operators and access independent drive test findings through an interactive digital interface.
The initiative is expected to help consumers evaluate the network performance of telecom operators, including Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel, Vodafone Idea and BSNL, based on available test observations.
Mobile Network and Broadband Speed Comparison
The TRAI Network Anubhav Platform integrates consumer-generated measurements from TRAI’s MySpeed and MyCall applications with Independent Drive Test (IDT) data.
Users can examine mobile and fixed broadband performance through interactive geographical maps that display download speeds, upload speeds and other network parameters.
The dashboard supports operator-wise and technology-wise filtering, allowing consumers to assess network performance in specific geographical locations.
Consumers can zoom into individual areas, examine the distribution of network tests and download reports for further analysis.
TRAI has introduced three statistical indicators to help users interpret broadband performance:
P50 (Median Speed): 50 percent of recorded tests achieved speeds at or above the displayed value.
P80 (Mobile Broadband): 80 percent of recorded mobile broadband tests achieved speeds at or above the displayed value.
P90 (Fixed Broadband): 90 percent of recorded fixed broadband tests achieved speeds at or above the displayed value.
These measurements provide insights into actual consumer experiences rather than relying exclusively on operator-reported network coverage.
However, TRAI clarified that consumer-generated measurements do not constitute a comprehensive network quality assessment under standard testing methodologies.
Network Optimization for Telecom Operators
The platform also provides telecom service providers with secure access to consumer-generated information on call quality, network coverage and internet performance.
Operators can examine technical parameters alongside geographical locations, dates and testing times to identify areas requiring network improvements.
This capability could help Reliance Jio, Airtel, Vodafone Idea and BSNL prioritize network optimization based on observed consumer experiences.
TRAI can also use aggregated data to monitor telecom service quality and support evidence-based network performance assessments.
TRAI Expands DND Services and Internet Speed Testing
Another important feature is the integration of Do Not Disturb (DND) services through a web interface.
Consumers can register commercial communication preferences, submit complaints about unsolicited commercial communications, track complaint status and examine operator-wise complaint information.
TRAI has also introduced the MySpeed Software Development Kit (SDK), enabling eligible third-party applications to integrate internet connectivity measurement capabilities.
Wider participation could increase the volume of real-world network measurements available through the dashboard.
TRAI Chairman Anil Kumar Lahoti said the Network Anubhav Platform would improve transparency in network testing, empower consumers to examine location-specific performance and help telecom operators identify opportunities for network optimization.
TRAI has encouraged consumers to contribute regularly through its MySpeed and MyCall applications to improve the geographical coverage and usefulness of the platform.
The Network Anubhav Platform represents a new approach to telecom network transparency in India, giving consumers greater access to operator-specific mobile broadband performance, call quality observations and independent network testing results.
