Telkomsel adds 6,700 4G radio base stations in Indonesia

Telkomsel, a telecom services provider in Indonesia, has added 6,700 4G radio base stations during the June quarter of 2019.

Telkomsel has 204,200 radio base stations and 75 percent are 3G/4G base transceiver stations providing nationwide coverage.

Telkomsel’s operating revenue grew 10 percent year-on-year, driven by 35 percent growth in data and digital services. Telkomsel has 111 million of data customers.

Telkomsel reported 21 percent decline in voice and SMS revenues as more customers switched to OTT apps.

Telkomsel’s EBITDA rose 18 percent due to cost of services and staff costs. Telkomsel’s pre-tax profit grew 18 percent.

Telkomsel’s mobile customer base reached 167.792 million in June 2019 as compared with 168.642 million in March 2019 and 177.888 million in June 2018.
