Tejas Networks packet optical transport backbone selected by XC Networks

XC Networks, a provider of cross-border communications,
last mile solutions and wireless backhaul in the Republic of Mexico and the
U.S., has selected Tejas Networks’ Packet Optical Transport solutions to
upgrade its optical backbone.

XC will open over 100 optical nodes in 2012 adding
accessing points and bandwidth to our ever growing network of 12,000 fiber
miles and 10 telecom hotels.

Tejas Networks’ technology provides XC the ability to
provision high capacity TDM, Ethernet and IP services at any location.

“As we continue to evolve our network to meet our
customers’ needs, we seek strong partners to help strengthen our business. This
ongoing network upgrade will allow us to maintain our position as the leading
provider of communication between the United State and Mexico,” said
Thomas Spackman, CEO of XC Networks.

With the Tejas Networks solution, XC Networks enhances
its capabilities to provide Ethernet and TDM services for all
applications. The additional capacity, flexible service offerings and
streamlined operations provide by the Packet Optical Transport platforms will
enable XC Networks to be more responsive to the communication needs of its
customers.

“Our complete suite of Packet Optical Transport
Solutions enables telecom carriers to converge traditional voice and new data
services into a single network. They can implement services faster and become
more efficient,” said Sanjay Nayak, CEO of Tejas Networks.

The network upgrade uses Tejas Networks’ Future Ready
technology to simplify capacity upgrades and ease the transition of network
services from primarily TDM to primarily Ethernet.  This technology will
allow XC Networks to quickly expand capacity for its customers and enable a
smooth transition to the all data network of the future.
