Anevia, a video streaming solutions and service
infrastructure for live TV and video on demand (VOD), announced that it
deployed an IPTV time-shifting solution for PrimeTel.
PrimeTel is the largest private Cypriot telecommunications carrier operating an ADSL
platform, a fiber-optic network, a Next Generation submarine cable system and a
mobile phone service. PrimeTel offers Triple-Play packages to retail customers,
combining broadband Internet, telephony, and IPTV services.
Anevia’s ViaDemand is a carrier-grade software solution
based on its circular buffer technology for delivering VOD and time-shifting
through IPTV networks.
PrimeTel has selected ViaDemand to offer catch-up TV and
Pause TV services to its retail customers. Catch-up TV allows for viewing
previously aired television shows from a choice 16 channels.
Its Pause TV feature offers the possibility of pausing a
live television program and playing back where it was left off; up to 72 hours
after being aired. Load balancing of recorded content is managed through the
Anevia ViaManager software.
“At PrimeTel we owe our success to the innovative
new types of services that we offer our customers,” said Hermes N.
Stephanou, managing director, PrimeTel. “By using Anevia’s software we are
able to provide our customers with exciting time-shifting features that further
enhance their overall viewing experience.”
“We are very pleased that PrimeTel has chosen to
deploy our solution,” said Jerome Goubier, sales manager at Anevia.
“Time-shifting services such as catch-up and pause TV will create value
and generate new revenue streams allowing them to maintain their market
leadership position.”
Anevia announced the release of
Flamingo XL, a new modular and high density IPTV head-end product for
hospitality and corporate markets.
Flamingo XL captures live TV & radio content from
satellite, cable, digital terrestrial, and analog sources before streaming it
over IP networks to set-top boxes, PCs, or other IP connected devices.
