Telecom service provider China Mobile has launched its 4G LTE mobile hotspot — powered by Marvell’s Armada Mobile PXA1802 multimode 4G LTE platform.
China Mobile’s CM408 4G LTE mobile hotspot enables mobile broadband connectivity to laptop computers, tablets and legacy handsets through China Mobile 4G LTE network.
Leveraging Marvell’s PXA1802, the CMCC CM408 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot supports multiple global access configurations including TD-SCDMA, FD-LTE, TD-LTE and EDGE.
This new device also features Marvell’s Avastar 88W8787 IEEE802.11n Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) and 88PM801 Power Management Unit (PMU).
This multimode LTE modem chipset supports the latest 3GPP LTE Release 9 standards with Category 4 throughputs of up to 150 Mbps DL (Down Link) and 50 Mbps UL (Up Link) and Release 8 TD-SCDMA HSPA+.
It integrates all of 2G, 3G and 4G mobile broadband modem technologies on a single chip, backward compatible with current WCDMA and TD-SCDMA networks and supporting TD/FD 4G LTE network, as well as Marvell’s 88RF858 high-performance multimode LTE transceiver to keep a flexible RF circuit design.
Meanwhile, Marvell will be demonstrating its mobile LTE connectivity solutions at CES 2014 on January 7 – 10, 2014.
