China Mobile 4G base station reached 940,000 in H1 2015

China Mobile, the largest telecom operator in the world, says the number of the 4G LTE base stations reached 940,000 in the first half of 2015.

The telecom operator achieved the world’s largest 4G telecom network covering a population of more than one billion people.

China Mobile sold 140 million 4G handsets through all distribution channels.

The mobile service provider added 99.6 million 4G customers in the first half of 2015. It has 190 million 4G customers, accounting for 23 percent of its total number of customers.

China Mobile said its operating revenue rose 4.9 percent to RMB340.7 billion in the first half of 2015.

Driven by deployment of 4G networks, data business increased 24.3 percent to RMB151.5 billion. China Mobile revenue from wireless data traffic grew 40.1 percent to RMB100.9 billion. At the same time, data traffic increased 154 percent.

China Mobile has over 810 million customers, representing a growth of 10.56 million customers as compared with the end of 2014.
