Allot Communications bags LTE order from Asian telecom operator

By Telecom Lead Team: Allot Communications, a provider of
service optimization and revenue generation solutions for fixed and mobile
broadband service providers, has received a follow-on order from an Asian Tier
1 mobile operator to support LTE rollout.

The order includes the deployment of multiple Allot
Service Gateway platforms to provide centralized policy control and charging,
enabling the operator to drive new revenues by implementing value-based
charging and offering its subscribers innovative service plans.

The company did not disclose the name of the Asian
operator.

“Service providers are coming to realize that while
LTE represents a huge opportunity for operators to improve the way they deliver
Internet to subscribers in terms of throughput, they also require network
intelligence to offer a wide range of services and service plans, and have the
ability to charge for them,” said Rami Hadar, Allot’s President and CEO.

Allot Service Gateway enables operators to expand their
role in the Internet value chain by providing vital information on
applications, subscribers and network topology. This knowledge is crucial
to implementing Intelligent Charging models which enable the monetization of
OTT applications such as video, social networking and more.
