Telecom operator Bharti Airtel announced its financial results and main achievements for the April-June quarter of 2024.
Bharti Airtel’s revenues rose 2.8 percent YoY and 2.4 percent QoQ to Rs 38,506 crore, impacted by currency devaluation in Africa. Net income (after exceptional items) was Rs 4,160 crore.
Total mobile data traffic grew 26.9 percent to 19,130 PBs.
Total Capex of Bharti Airtel has reached Rs 8,007 crore.
Airtel India
Airtel India Capex for the quarter reached Rs 6,781 crore. Customer base of Airtel India stands at ~ 409 million.
Airtel Africa Capex was Rs 1,225 crore. Airtel Africa has customer base of 155 million.
Airtel India revenue rose 10.1 percent to Rs 29,046 crore. Mobile revenues grew 10.5 percent due to improved realisations and sustained customer additions.
ARPU jumped to Rs 211 from Rs 200, driven by focus on acquiring quality customers.
Airtel India added 0.8 million postpaid customers. Airtel India has 24 million postpaid customers at the end of June 2024.
Airtel India has added ~6.3k towers and ~15.5k mobile broadband stations as part of enhancing network experience.
Airtel India’s homes revenue grew 17.6 percent, driven by customer additions.
Airtel India accelerated FWA expansion.
Airtel India added 348,000 customers in the quarter to reach 8 million.
Airtel India’s WiFi services — FTTH and FWA — are now live in 1317 cities.
Airtel Business revenue rose 8.3 percent by leveraging the converged portfolio of Airtel.
Revenue of Digital TV remained stable with 16.3 million customers at the end of quarter.
“Our digital portfolio is shaping up well and it is geared for accelerated growth to add strength to our already diversified portfolio. In the recently concluded spectrum auction, we renewed spectrum that was expiring in 6 circles and further bolstered our sub-giga hertz and mid-band holding in key circles by investing Rs 6,857 crores,” Airtel Managing Director Gopal Vittal said.
