Airtel 4G reaches rural areas in Arunachal Pradesh

Bharti Airtel announced the expansion of its 4G services in rural areas of Hayuliang in Anjaw district in Arunachal Pradesh.
airtel-4g-in-rural-indiaAirtel 4G network will be available to smartphone customers in 100 villages across the Hayuliang region. Airtel said it plans to gradually expand its 4G services to other parts of the district.

Airtel, the second largest telecom operator in India, is the leading private mobile operator in Arunachal Pradesh with over half million customers. Its 4G service covers over 30 towns and 900 villages across the state, Raveendra Desai, chief executive officer of Bharti Airtel, North East and Assam, said.

Over 200 4G smartphones from major phone brands like Oppo, Vivo, Apple, Samsung, OnePlus, Nokia, Panasonic, Xiaomi, Karbonn, Lava and Panasonic support HD quality voice calling offered on Airtel VoLTE.

Airtel has over 1.5 crore customers across Assam and North East. It was the first operator to launch 3G and 4G services in the region.

Airtel plans to roll out 6,000 new mobile sites across the region in FY 2018-19 with the aim of stepping up network capacity as part of its network transformation program – Project Leap. The mobile operator will be adding 16 new mobile sites per day across the region.
