Airspan and Qucell tap Radisys’ Trillium TOTALeNodeB software to develop LTE small cell

Telecom Lead America: Qucell has selected Radisys’ Trillium TOTALeNodeB software for developing LTE small cell.

Currently, Radisys’ small cell solutions are being deployed in the Korean, Japanese and North American markets.

Qucell will look at developing small cell access for residential, enterprise and public access that support up to 64 users.

Qucell will benefit from TOTALeNodeB’s scalability, performance on next generation silicon, and Radisys’ investment to support LTE standards and small cell applications development, including Operations Administration and Maintenance (OAM).

Besides supporting dual mode with its 3G Femtotality software, Radisys provides small cell product solution for both FDD and TDD LTE products.

Mark Choi, CEO, Qucell, says Radisys offers high-performing and cost-effective LTE and 3G small cell software solutions.

Amit Agarwal, vice president and general manager, Software and Solutions, Radisys, says Qucell is able to leverage its local support and professional services to achieve faster time to market in the Korean small cell market and the worldwide market.

Meanwhile, Radisys and Airspan announced the development of the world’s first commercial LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) small cell solution.

Airspan’s LTE-A capable AirSynergy 4G leverages Radisys’ Trillium TOTALeNodeB small cell software.

Paul Senior, CTO, Airspan, says leveraging Trillium TOTALeNodeB for AirSynergy 4G accelerates its ability to be first to market.
