ARRIS to sell manufacturing facility in Taiwan

ARRIS International will sell its customer premises equipment manufacturing facility in New Taipei City, Taiwan, to Pegatron Corporation.

The company did not reveal financial details with the Pegatron, one of the partners of ARRIS.

The broadband tech company said it will transfer the manufacturing of ARRIS customer premises equipment to Pegatron’s Suzhou site in China by the end of 2018.

ARRIS will maintain technology development and business operations in Taiwan, including its Ruckus operations. ARRIS’s Taiwan Technology Center will be a major tech hub for the company.

ARRIS will leverage Pegatron’s investments in technologies to accelerate innovation and time to market. This sale is part of ARRIS’s supply chain strategy to leverage key partners to simplify its manufacturing footprint.
