Qualcomm in 3G and 4G patent deal with Smartron India

Qualcomm for 5GChipset major Qualcomm has entered into a 3G and 4G patent license agreement with Smartron India.

As per the patent deal, Qualcomm has granted Smartron a royalty-bearing patent license to develop, manufacture and sell WCDMA, CDMA2000, and 4G LTE complete devices.

Smartron and the US-based Qualcomm will collaborate on early technology access and advancements in RF, camera testing and tuning and other critical calibrations required for smart devices. It also enhances Smartron’s core competency and vision of developing innovative products across different markets.

“We will enable Smartron in its mission to create technologies that advance the mobile industry,” said Jim Cathey, senior vice president & president, Asia Pacific & India, Qualcomm International.
