Vodafone post-to-pre talk time transfer service comes with conditions

Telecom Lead Asia: Mobile service provider Vodafone India launched its Post-to-Pre Talk time Transfer service.

The service enables post-paid Vodafone customers, who have family members, domestic staff, friends or office staff using a pre-paid Vodafone connection and in need of talktime, to transfer balance talk-time.

However, there are riders.

First, the service is applicable within the same circle. This means, one user in a metro cannot transfer balance to his / her parents who are living in rural area.

Second, the facility allows a post-paid subscriber to make one transaction per day.

Third, a recipient can receive up to three transactions in a day. However, the maximum amount that can be transferred from a single post-paid connection or received by a single pre-paid connection cannot exceed Rs 1000 per month.

Fourth, a service fee of Rs 3 will be charged to the donor for the transaction

Fifth, enterprise subscribers are not eligible for this service

Vivek Mathur, chief commercial officer, Vodafone India, says post-to-pre balance transfer is a special initiative to empower its customers and help them remain connected always.

The service is enabled through USSD platform. To transfer balance to a pre-paid connection, subscriber has to dial *130# and follow an interactive menu. The customer can dial *130#*Amount*Recipient Number#. Both donor and recipient will receive confirmation SMS after successful transfer. The balance gets credited into the prepaid number within minutes. Maximum and minimum amount per transaction is Rs 100 and Rs 50 respectively.
