VimpelCom appoints Jon Eddy as head of Emerging Markets

Telecom network operator VimpelCom has appointed Jon Eddy as its head of Emerging Markets — responsible for businesses in Algeria, Pakistan, and Bangladesh.

He will report to VimpelCom CEO Jean-Yves Charlier.

Before joining VimpelCom, Jon Eddy was the CEO of dtac, Thailand’s second largest mobile operator owned by Telenor Group.

Before that Jon was CEO of Telenor Pakistan, COO at Maxis Mobile in Malaysia, and chief technology officer (CTO) at Digi Telecom in Malaysia.

Recently, VimpelCom appointed Erik Aas as the new CEO of Bangladesh and Alexandr Komarov as the new CEO of Kazakhstan.
