TRAI shares result of call drop test in Trivandrum

Telecom QoS in Trivandrum, KeralaTelecom regulator TRAI has released the result of the drive test conducted in Trivandrum, the capital city of Kerala state.

TRAI in a statement issued on Friday said all the telecom network operators have met the Call Setup Success Rate benchmark of ~95 percent.

All the mobile operators have met the Blocked Call Rate benchmark of 3 percent except Tata Docomo on 3G network.

All the telecom service providers have met the Call Drop Rate benchmark of Q percent except Bharti Airtel on 2G network, Aircel on both 2G and 3G networks and Tata Docomo on 2G network.

All the mobile operators have met the RxQuality Rate benchmark of ~95 percent except Aircel on 2G network, said TRAI.

TRAI has conducted the performance of Aircel, Bharti Airtel, Idea Cellular, Reliance Communications, BSNL, MTS, Tata Docomo and Vodafone on 2G, 3G and CDMA networks in Trivandrum city from 1 to 3 June 2016 covering a distance of 350 km.

TRAI has collected QoS related inputs to assess the network condition more specifically in terms of Radio Frequency Coverage; Rx Quality; Call Setup Success Rate; Call Drop; Voice Quality; Blocked calls; and Carrier to Interference ratio.
