TeliaSonera plans 2014 Capex of $2.5 billion

European telecom service provider TeliaSonera is estimating that its Capex (capital spending) in 2014 will be 15 percent of sales revenue. This means, Capex growth will be almost flat from 2013’s $2.52 billion (SEK 16,332 million).

In 2013, TeliaSonera increased its Capex to SEK 16,332 million from SEK 15,685 million in 2012 with Capex to sales ratio of 16.1 percent (15 percent).

TeliaSonera during the fourth quarter of 2013 invested SEK 6,047 million (SEK 4,813 million) towards Capex.

The telecom operator’s Capex plan reflects its inability to improve sales in 2014. TeliaSonera is expecting a flat sales growth in the current year.

For the full year of 2013, TeliaSonera’s sales decreased 0.2 percent to SEK 101,700 million (104,898). Net income in 2013 decreased 24.7 percent to SEK 14,970 million (19,886).
