Telia Announces Patrik Hofbauer as New CEO in Place of Allison Kirkby

In a strategic move, Telia Company, a prominent telecommunications corporation, has appointed former Telenor executive Patrik Hofbauer as its President and CEO, effective February 1, 2024.

This development comes after Telia Company’s current CEO, Allison Kirkby, announced her decision to depart from the company and assume a position at BT Group by July 31.

Patrik Hofbauer boasts an impressive career spanning over 11 years with Telenor, during which he held key leadership positions. He served as the CEO of Telenor in Sweden from 2014 to 2018 and prior to that, as the CEO of Telenor Broadcasting in Norway from 2011 to 2014. Hofbauer’s extensive leadership experience also includes roles as the CEO of Clear Channel in Sweden (2009-2010), CEO of Canal Digital in Sweden (2005-2009), and CEO of NEC Scandinavia (1999-2004).

The decision to appoint Hofbauer as the new President and CEO underscores Telia Company’s commitment to maintaining strong leadership and driving growth in the telecommunications and media industry. Hofbauer’s proven track record and diverse expertise make him a valuable addition to the Telia Company team, and his tenure is eagerly anticipated to further advance the company’s strategic goals and objectives.
