T-Mobile expands prepaid brand MetroPCS into 10 new markets

T-Mobile on Thursday announced the expansion of its prepaid brand MetroPCS into 10 new markets in the U.S.

With the latest expansion, MetroPCS brand will be available in nearly 11,000 points of sale in 55 metropolitan areas against over 6,000 points of sale in 15 metropolitan areas 18 months ago, said T-Mobile in a statement.

John Legere, president and CEO of T-Mobile, said: “While other major national wireless providers are losing prepaid customers in droves, MetroPCS is growing strong.”

The following are the new markets, where MetroPCS will be available:

Chattanooga, TN

Chicago, IL

Kansas City, MO

Milwaukee, WI

Minneapolis-St.Paul, MN

Norfolk-Portsmouth-Newport News, VA

Richmond-Petersburg, VA

Salt Lake City, UT

St. Louis, MO

Yakima-Pasco-Richland-Kennewick, WA

Customers with MetroPCS’ $40 Period rate plan, which includes all taxes and fees, on T-Mobile’s LTE network will get double the data. The company has increased the data from 500MB per month to 1GB per month. The $50 plan users will get 3GB of 4G LTE data per month from 2.5GB earlier on T-Mobile’s network.
