Spending on Telecom and Pay TV services to grow 2% to $1,541 bn: IDC

Worldwide spending on Telecom Services and Pay TV Services increased 2.2 percent to $1,478 billion in 2022, according to IDC.

In Asia Pacific, spending on Telecom and Pay TV services increased 3 percent to $481 million in 2022.

In EMEA, spending on Telecom and Pay TV services increased 2.4 percent to $449 million in 2022.

IDC expects worldwide spending on Telecom and Pay TV services will increase by 2 percent in 2023 to $1,541 billion. The increase in tariffs of telecommunication services fueled by inflation will support telecoms to achieve this growth.

“Telecom operators are transforming – from providers of traditional commodity-style services they are becoming modern all-round full-stack technology suppliers,” says Kresimir Alic, Research Director, Worldwide Telecom Services at IDC.
