Spectranet deploys Nokia GPON solution as part of FTTH rollout

Nokia announced that Spectranet, an Internet Service Provider in Nigeria, will deploy its GPON solution as part of its Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) rollout in Lagos and Abuja.
Nokia GPON technologySpectranet, one of the leading 4G operators in Nigeria, will use the broadband solution to provide new ultra-broadband services such as 4K HD video streaming and online gaming to residential and enterprise subscribers in the region.

Spectranet, which has been providing wireless broadband services in Nigeria since 2013, will use Nokia’s FTTH technology to address the demands of its subscribers by providing high speed internet connectivity at affordable tariffs.

Ajay Awasthi, chief executive officer at Spectranet, said: “With Nokia’s GPON solution, we will be able to offer customers new ultra-broadband services that create a superior customer experience in the home and office.”

Daniel Jaeger, head of CEWA Market Unit at Nokia, said: “Spectranet’s subscribers will be able to connect to gigabit services and enjoy differentiated services that enhance their overall broadband access experience.”
