45 mn PCs and tablets to incorporate 5G connectivity

Nearly 45 million PCs and tablets globally will incorporate 5G connectivity by 2023, according to a report from Strategy Analytics.

5G mobile operators will have a chance to re-evaluate their pricing and data plans with 5G mobile consumers to make a better case for 5G service on a multitude of devices beyond the smartphone.

Asia-Pacific will account for more than 40 percent of 5G devices in use, North America 29 percent and Western Europe 21 percent in 2023.

Global annual sales of 5G computing devices will grow at a CAGR of 216 percent between 2019 and 2023.

Intel, Qualcomm, Arm, Microsoft, and a handful of PC OEMs are working on developing PCs that can use 5G network.
