MTN Ivory Coast names Djibril Ouattara as CEO

MTN Group announced the appointment of Djibril Ouattara as the chief executive officer of MTN Ivory Coast.

The appointment of Djibril Ouattara follows the departure of former CEO, Freddy Tchala in September.

Djibril Ouattara, in his most recent role as CEO of MTN Congo Brazzaville, made significant strides in delivering on the company’s BRIGHT strategy. He has implemented a turnaround including a network transformation which won MTN Congo Brazzaville the award for the best network in the country for two consecutive years.

Djibril Ouattara has worked across Africa, the USA and Europe. Prior to joining MTN he held CEO roles at Canal Plus Ivory Coast and Etisalat-Atlantique Telecom Togo.

Ayham Moussa, chief technical and information officer (CTIO) of MTN Congo Brazzaville, will become the acting CEO for MTN Congo Brazzaville until a permanent appointment is finalized.
