GSMA Chief Regulatory Officer John Giusti
Telecom industry association GSMA has appointed FCC veteran John Giusti as chief regulatory officer.

Giusti will be responsible for GSMA’s public policy and industry advocacy agenda with governments, regulators, international institutions and development organizations.

He succeeds Tom Phillips, who has stepped down as chief regulatory officer. Phillips will continue to serve as a special advisor to the GSMA, supporting the GSMA’s relationships with institutions such as the United Nations, the World Bank and the World Economic Forum.

Prior to joining the GSMA, Giusti spent 17 years at US Federal Communications Commission (FCC). Most recently, he served as chief of staff and senior policy advisor to Commissioner Michael Copps, providing legal, strategic and policy support to the commissioner.
