AT&T signs 3-year connectivity deal with ASSA ABLOY

AT&T data plansAmerican telecom giant AT&T today announced a three-year networking deal with ASSA ABLOY to transform its global business for the digital world.

AT&T said its FlexWare platform enables intelligence at the edge allowing the company’s business clients to analyze, protect and refine network. With FlexWare, customers can deploy and manage their network functions, like routers and firewalls for example, more easily.

“Transferring data in a timely and secure way is crucial for our digital smart lock solutions. It’s why we’ve turned to AT&T, to gain access to an agile and data centric global network,” said Jens Nielsen, CIO at ASSA ABLOY.

ASSA ABLOY is creating security solutions where digital identities can open doors, computers and printers as well as give access to many other functions at work and home. Simple flexible access under high security and control is by a smartphone, an ID card or fingerprint recognition.

ASSA ABLOY will use AT&T’s global VPN and WAN acceleration, internet and remote access services across 350 global locations.  It will use AT&T Cloud Web Security Services.

AT&T is also providing mobile connectivity services to ASSA ABLOY employees in the US.

“We’re helping ASSA ABLOY evolve its business so that it’s ready to take on the digital needs of its customers. We built a centrally managed global network tailored to them,” said John V Slamecka, region president, EMEA, AT&T.
