AT&T invests $1.6 bn in wireless and wired networks in New Jersey 

AT&T has invested nearly $1.6 billion in its wireless and wired networks in New Jersey between 2012 through 2014.

The focus of AT&T Capex (capital spending) was on upgrades, coverage, speed and performance for residents and business customers.

“AT&T’s continued investment in the Garden State brings a host of new, innovative opportunities for residents and businesses to connect with each other and their customers,” said J Michael Schweder, Mid-Atlantic President, AT&T.

Earlier, the American wireless operator &T said it invested more than $1.6 billion in its wireless and wired networks in Ohio between 2012 through 2014.

Notable Ohio network enhancements in 2014 included installation of a Distributed Antenna System (DAS) at Ohio Stadium in Columbus, to enhance game-day mobile Internet coverage.

Meanwhile, AT&T has invested nearly $300 million in its wireless and wired networks in West Virginia between 2012 through 2014.

As part of its Project Velocity IP (VIP), AT&T in 2014 made 217 wireless network upgrades and built 27 new cell sites in West Virginia.

Capex include LTE cell sites in Braxton, Charleston and Fairmont, network capacity in Beckley, Charleston and Huntington, and mobile internet expansions in Buckhannon, Cabell and Hamlin.
