AT&T eyeing Vodafone after Verizon deal

American telecom major AT&T wants to buy U.K. phone giant Vodafone after completing the Verizon deal.

A Bloomberg report says AT&T, the number one U.S. mobile carrier, is only interested in the wireless business and would be discouraged if Vodafone expands in cable and fixed-line.

The potential deal could fetch about $124 billion.

Both Vodafone and AT&T did not share comments.

Currently, talks between Verizon and Vodafone are on to buy Vodafone’s 45 percent stake in Verizon Wireless for potentially $130 billion. ( Vodafone confirms talks for Verizon deal )
