Airtel follows Vodafone: plans group sharing for post-paid users

Indian telecom service provider Bharti Airtel is planning to unveil group sharing scheme for its post-paid subscribers.

A Times of India report said the new scheme from the country’s largest mobile service provider will enable subscribers to share both voice and data among a group of five members.

The main target will be families. The new scheme will be an extension of Airtel’s my plan.

Bharti Airtel has 210 million mobile customers in India. Out of this, 5 percent of mobile users are on pre-paid. In metros, Airtel pre-paid users constitute around 10 percent.

Vodafone India, one of the rivals of Bharti Airtel, is currently offering similar group sharing plan under its Red initiative.
