Aircel’s Global Wholesale & Carrier Business head Chandan Ghosh steps down

He is planning to start his own company soon.

TelecomLead.com recently reported that Aircel, India’s fifth largest mobile service provider, based on mobile subscribers, has appointed Kaizad Heerjee as its COO. Before joining Aircel, Heerjee worked at U Mobile, Malaysian telecom operator, as its chief executive officer.

After the exit of Gurdeep Singh, COO of Aircel, several senior professionals have left Aircel.

Chandan, who has got around 35 years experience, has been instrumental in launching international long distance and national long distance services for Aircel and Airtel.

Chandan has seen the business from all sides as he has worked with equipment vendors, network operators and service providers with customer service, sales and P&L business owner.

He worked with companies such as Xerox, HCL, GTL, British Telecom, AT&T, Bharti Airtel and Aircel.

According to his LinkedIn profile, he was the first individual to start the International Wholesale & Carrier Business in India at Bharti Airtel in 2002 after Government of India broke the monopoly of VSNL (Tata Communications) by liberalizing International Long Distance telecom in India.
