Telecom network maker ZTE has revealed some of its achievements in the 4G wireless and services business in 2015.
The Chinese telecom equipment vendor, which competes with Huawei, Nokia and Ericsson, did not share details on how it achieved the latest milestones.
ZTE’s wireless business posted sales growth of more than 30 percent. ZTE shipped 25 percent more 4G products and accounted for over 30 percent of the global market in 2015.
ZTE said its wireless division signed more than 240 LTE / EPC (long-term evolution / evolved packet core) commercial contracts and entered 80 percent of the countries that have invested in LTE 4G networks.
ZTE has supplied its vEPC network to over 12 commercial sites and 32 pilot sites worldwide.
Meanwhile, ZTE said its service business scale increased 20 percent in 2015. ZTE has signed over 177 managed service contracts worldwide, involving over 335,000 sites and 332,000 kilometres of optical outside plant (OSP) cables for operation and maintenance (O&M).
ZTE managed service is currently serving over 230 million users all over the world.
O2 (Germany, E-plus network), Euskaltel (Spain), Telenor (Pakistan), MTN (Uganda), H3A (Austria), DIGI (Malaysia), China Mobile, China Tower, and China Unicom are some of the managed services clients of ZTE.
Chen Fuqi, assistant CEO and general manager of the Engineering Service Dept. at ZTE, said: “In the M-ICT (mobile Internet) era, four trends will develop for operator networks: mobile, big data, cloud-based & network virtualization, and the information communication technology (ICT) service field will witness intensive integration.”
