RAD unveils new 10 GbE Network Termination Unit

Telecom Lead Middle East: RAD Data Communications, a
provider of telecom access solutions has expanded its Ethernet access portfolio
with the launch of a 10 GbE Network Termination Unit (NTU) namely the ETX-220A.

With demarcation and aggregation capabilities, the
Network Termination Unit delivers SLA-based Carrier Ethernet services for
enterprise and carrier-to-carrier applications.

Adaptive to Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) CE 2.0
specifications, the ETX-220A NTU is optimized for bandwidth intensive Ethernet
access services, with a system throughput of up to 40 Gbps.

The ETX-220A answers a real need for high capacity
access combined with service management and SLA assurance. As a demarcation
solution it can be used for managed service handoff at an enterprise
headquarters handling a large volume of traffic, at carrier hotels or between
provider networks,” he continues,” said Eyal Aloni, ETX portfolio manager at
RAD Data Communications.

The carrier-grade ETX-220A is interoperable with the
ETX-5300A Ethernet service aggregation platform, the ETX-205A Carrier Ethernet
mobile demarcation device and the ETX-203AX and ETX-203AM Carrier Ethernet
demarcation devices.

The ETX-220A is equipped with sophisticated traffic
management and supports extensive hardware-based tools for managing the service
life cycle seamlessly, even across third-party networks.

Furthermore, the ETX-220A offers the highest possible
service availability along with end-to-end performance management across packet
backhaul, which is required by providers of premium communications services.
