Huawei in pact with Vodafone focusing on enterprise biz

Huawei recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Vodafone Global Enterprise focusing on the enterprise market in Europe, Asia Pacific and Africa.

Vodafone and Huawei will develop enterprise communications and technology services for global enterprise customers focusing on the use of Huawei’s fixed and mobile connectivity bonding technology for new products, investigating the opportunities for in-building coverage solutions, the development of new Machine-to-Machine module designs, and developing solutions regarding Safe City, Internet of Things, and cloud data centers.

“We have worked with Huawei across various parts of our business and this agreement to focus on the enterprise market is an important evolution. There is an opportunity for us both to bring our expertise to bear on some of the key challenges in the enterprise market,” said Nick Jeffery, chief executive of Vodafone Group Enterprise.

Yan Lida, president, Enterprise Business Group, Huawei, said the company aims to carry out joint innovations, integrate ICT expertise and global resources, help customers cope with challenges and opportunities brought by the new industrial revolution.

Huawei and Vodafone have already worked in a number of areas to deliver an innovative branch enablement project in Asia, and Hosting & Cloud solution in South Africa.
