Fujitsu wins 77 U.S patent grants in 2011

Telecom Lead America: Fujitsu announced that it has got
77 patent grants in 2011 by the US Patent and Trademark Office.

 

With these recent patent grants, the company’s total
patents reached 140, which is more than any other optical technology provider
in North America.

 

The company claims that the patent grants were results of
its continuous technology advancements aimed at helping customers achieve their
business objectives.

 

Fujitsu’s technology has been chosen by the largest
communications operators in North America so it’s not surprising to see them
being at the forefront of innovation,” said Ron Kline, principal analyst, Network
Infrastructure Telecoms, Ovum.

 

The analyst added that Fujitsu’s substantial R&D
investments are helping to propel the communications industry toward the next
generation in networking.

 

As of Q4 2011, Fujitsu Network Communications owned 22
percent of the total optical transport and switching market share, which makes
it the market leader in North America, according to Ovum

sacrificing capabilities,” said Rod Naphan, senior vice president of product
and strategic planning at Fujitsu Network Communications.


Fujitsu claims that it leads in Next Generation
Reconfigurable Optical Add/Drop Multiplexer (ROADM), 400G transport and OTN
switching.

 

The company claims that it invests more than $2.8 billion
in R&D each year.

 

The investment allows the Fujitsu to provide North
America’s Telecom carriers, MSOs and a myriad of private
and public-sector enterprises with high-bandwidths, low-latencies,
uninterrupted technologies.

 

Fujitsu unveils LTE TDD and FDD optimized transceivers

 

Earlier, Fujitsu Semiconductor Wireless Products launched
the MB86L13A LTE (FDD and TDD) optimized transceiver for LTE-only applications.

 

The new transceiver features the Fujitsu architecture
that eliminates the need for external low noise amplifiers and inter-stage
surface acoustic wave filters.
