Asian fixed/mobile operator selects Procera for Cloud services deployment

By Telecom
Lead Team: Procera Networks has received and deployed an initial order from a
Tier-1 Asian fixed/mobile operator for a Cloud services deployment.

This
operator serves more than 20 million fixed/mobile subscribers across their
coverage footprint.

Cloud
services will apply to their customers and hosting subscribers. The initial
deployment is for multiple PacketLogic Real-Time Enforcement (PRE) systems
across cloud hosting sites. It is designed to ensure a high quality of
experience for the cloud services that are hosted by the operator.

This order
was received and shipped in Q4, and is currently fully operational in the
customer’s network.

“Cloud
Services have become a mission-critical service offering for consumers
worldwide as users move more of their data into the cloud for access by
multiple devices,” said Cam Cullen, VP of Global Marketing for Procera Networks.

Cloud
operators have become more interested in Intelligent Policy Enforcement (IPE)
solutions to deliver a high Quality of Experience to their customers, as well
as provide detailed usage, SLA metrics and business intelligence on how the
service is being utilized by consumers.

The IPE
deployment for the cloud service is focused on enforcing service level
agreements (SLAs) for hosting customers and measuring bandwidth usage for
billing purposes.

Customers
are provided with detailed reports from PacketLogic Report Studio that cover
the applications being used to access their hosting service, the traffic load
and peak values, as well as the delivered QoE, which can include packet loss on
the Internet.

Report
Studio is being used to generate customer reports to assist in resolving
billing disputes, and the level of detail present in the reports has enabled
the operator to recapture previously lost revenue.

The operator
has detailed analytics for the overall cloud usage to help them drive the
investment in their hosting service, and to identify where bottlenecks are
occurring in their hosting centers. They can measure new application trends in
their customer base, enabling them to deliver better service offerings to
existing and potential customers.

The
PacketLogic solutions will also enable them to offer more attractively-priced
options based on combinations of usage, subscribers, and bandwidth, while
delivering on stringent SLAs for customers.
