Alvarion to showcase targeted mobile offering of wireless broadband solutions

By Telecom Lead Team: Alvarion, a provider of optimized wireless broadband solutions, will showcase new solutions for mobile operators, service providers, governments and enterprises at Mobile World Congress 2012.

Alvarion’s product portfolio provides a wide range of broadband wireless solutions for the growing needs of today’s end-user requirements allowing customers to easily expand their network and service offering.

For the mobile carrier market, Alvarion will highlight cellular offload, Wi-Fi services in metro and rural areas, In-building capacity and coverage, and LTE-future ready solutions.

Alvarion’s solutions at the event include WBSn for seamless mobile-data-offloading and metro-zone hot spots, BreezeULTRA, BreezeCELL, BreezeCOMPACT base station and BreezeMAX PRO 6000.

We have expanded our solution portfolio to include a targeted offering for today’s mobile carriers as part of our strategy to offer customers more options for services and growth,” said Eran Gorev, president and CEO of Alvarion.

Furthermore, Alvarion announced that it has been selected as a finalist for the GSMA Global Mobile Award 2012 for the best mobile broadband technology category.

Reflecting the intensity of competition and innovation across the mobile ecosystem, we saw a record 600 entries and an exceptionally high quality field of contenders vying for this year’s Global Mobile Awards,” said Michael O’Hara, chief marketing officer, GSMA.

A few months ago, Alvarion announced its agreement to acquire Wavion, an Israel-based technology provider for carrier-grade WiFi applications, for $30 million in cash.
