Airtel selects Ericsson to deploy 5G Core network across India

Bharti Airtel and Ericsson have strengthened their partnership to deploy Ericsson’s 5G Core network across India. This collaboration will support Airtel’s transition to a full-scale 5G Standalone network, enhancing network capacity and enabling innovative services.

Randeep Sekhon, CTO of Bharti Airtel, highlighted the importance of Ericsson’s 5G Core solutions in Airtel’s long-term strategy, while Andres Vicente of Ericsson emphasized the role of dual-mode 5G Core in monetization through network slicing and APIs.

As part of the agreement, Ericsson will deploy its Signaling Controller solution and introduce a 5G Standalone-enabled Charging and Policy solution, enhancing Airtel’s 5G monetization and business model innovation.
