Novatel Wireless, a provider of wireless solutions for the Internet of Things (IoT), announced that its MiFi mobile hotspot called MiFi 6630 will launch with Bell Mobility’s 4G LTE network in Canada this month.
The new MiFi 6630 mobile hotspot, based on the U.S. MiFi 6600 series, is designed for wireless broadband customers in cities, small towns or rural and remote communities.
MiFi 6630 is capable of offering up to 150 Mbps speeds, with average speeds between 10 and 40 Mbps. It offers simultaneous connectivity for up to 15 devices, up to 20 hours of use on a single charge. It doubles as a charger for devices such as smartphones and tablets.
The MiFi 6630 also comes with features including anti-spoofing and filtering controls and supports more than eight LTE bands for connectivity in over 200 countries.
“The MiFi 6630 is an excellent choice for Canadians everywhere who are looking to take advantage of Canada’s largest 4G LTE network for reliable high-speed mobile Internet access,” said Blaik Kirby, president of Bell Mobility.
Bell says its 4G LTE service covers 91 percent of the Canadian population now and will expand to 98 percent by the end of 2015.
