Xiaomi India President Muralikrishnan B resigned

Xiaomi India announced that Muralikrishnan B, President of Xiaomi India, will become an independent Strategic Advisor.

Muralikrishnan joined Xiaomi India in 2018 and held various roles, including Chief Operating Officer, before his promotion to President in 2022. Throughout his tenure, he played a pivotal role in enhancing Xiaomi India’s brand presence, leading strategic direction across teams, and steering critical public affairs efforts.

Xiaomi is the second largest smartphone in India with 17 percent share during the third quarter of 2024. Xiaomi shipped 7.8 million smartphones in Q3 2024 vs 7.6 million in Q3 2024. Its main focus is on 5G smartphones in India, Sanyam Chaurasia, Senior Analyst at Canalys, said.

Muralikrishnan is set to pursue his passion for academic research, focusing on his Executive Doctorate in Management, where he aims to deepen his expertise in Consumer Behaviour on Technology Platforms.

The smartphone maker said Sudhin Mathur will continue to guide key functions as COO. Key leaders, including Sameer Rao (CFO), Varun Madan (CPO), and Anuj Sharma (CMO), will further strengthen Xiaomi’s focus on technology experiences.
