Top 5 smartphone market share list in Q2 2013 from Gartner, Samsung leads

Gartner on Wednesday announced the list of top 5 smartphone makers in the world based on the shipments in the second quarter of 2013. Samsung leads the smartphone market based on shipment market share in Q2 2013. Apple is in the second place.

Samsung has increased its market share to 31.7 percent from 29.7 percent.

Gartner says smartphone sales rose 46.5 percent to 225 million units. Smartphones accounted for 51.8 percent of mobile phone sales in the second quarter of 2013.

Asia/Pacific, Latin America and Eastern Europe exhibited the highest smartphone growth rates of 74.1 percent, 55.7 percent and 31.6 percent respectively, as smartphone sales grew in all regions.
