Indonesia’s smartphone market recorded 12.4 percent YoY decline and 14.6 percent Quarter-on-Quarter (QoQ), reaching 8.1 million units in Q3 2022, according to IDC.
The smartphone market is expected to remain under pressure in Indonesia amidst the rocketing inflation, volatile exchange rate movements, and rate hikes. Hence, smartphone shipments in Indonesia are expected to be lower in 2022 compared to 2021, says Vanessa Aurelia, Associate Market Analyst at IDC Indonesia.
Leading smartphone vendors in Indonesia include Oppo (with shipment of 1.9 million), Samsung (1.8 million units), Vivo (1.5 million), Xiaomi (1.1 million) and RealMe (0.9 million) during Q3 2022.
