Semiconductor Major TSMC Reports 4.5% Dip in Annual Revenue for 2023

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), the leading global contract chipmaker, has disclosed its financial performance for the period spanning January to December 2023, revealing a total revenue of NT$2,161.74 billion. This marks a 4.5 percent decrease in the revenue of TSMC compared to the corresponding period in 2022.
TSMC for iPhonesIn its fourth-quarter report for 2023, TSMC’s revenue remained relatively stagnant when compared to the same period in the preceding year.

The figures indicate that revenue for the final quarter of 2023 stood at approximately T$625.5 billion ($20.10 billion), as per calculations by Reuters. This demonstrates a marginal increase from $19.93 billion recorded in the year-ago period.

Specifically, TSMC stated that its revenue for December 2023 hovered around NT$176.30 billion, showing a decline of 14.4 percent from November 2023 and a further 8.4 percent decrease from December 2022.
