BSNL to deploy Syniverse SMS Solution to better mobile messaging reach

Indian telecom service provider BSNL will deploy Syniverse SMS Interoperability Solution to provide better mobile messaging reach to users.

Syniverse’s SMS Interoperability Solution will enable BSNL to sign a single agreement to connect to numerous MNOs worldwide instead of multiple individual commercial agreements to establish those connections.

Anupam Shrivastava, director, Consumer Mobility, BSNL, said: “We will optimize our messaging system to ensure our subscribers receive the highest level of reliability and excellent service on par with global telecom operators.”

New SMS destinations automatically become available as they connect to the Syniverse SMS Hub, either directly or through peering agreements. The routing of SMS messages includes mobile number portability and routing capabilities for a range of GSM, CDMA and TDMA networks.

Sanjay Kasturia, vice president and managing director, Sales, India, Syniverse, said more than 30 operators and enterprises in India rely on Syniverse for a variety of solutions to make mobile work for their end users. In addition, Syniverse continues to support the Government of India’s Department of Telecom mobile number portability initiative in Zone 1 across 11 circles, including New Delhi and Mumbai.
