Telecom Lead America: Zhone Technologies, a provider of
FTTx network access solutions, has posted revenues of $30.8 million for
the second quarter of 2012, as compared to $31.3 million for the second quarter
of 2011.
Net loss for the second quarter of 2012 was $2.1 million,
as compared with a net loss of $3.4 million for Q1 FY12 and a net loss of $1.9
million for Q2 FY12.
Operating expenses stood at $11.3 million for the second
quarter of 2012, against $12.9 million for the same quarter a year earlier.
During the quarter, the company spent $4.8 million on
R&D and $4.8 on sales and marketing.
The company posted adjusted EBITDA loss of $1.7 million
for the second quarter of 2012, compared to an adjusted EBITDA loss of $3.1
million for Q1 FY12 and an adjusted EBITDA loss of $1.1 million for Q2 FY11.
Cash, cash equivalents and short-term investments at the
end of Q2 FY12 stood at $13.1 million, as compared to $18.2 million at December
31, 2011.
“Revenue for the second quarter of 2012 grew by 14
percent over last quarter from broad based demand for our products both
domestically and abroad. With moderate growth in revenue and improving gross
margins, we’re still hopeful that we can generate positive adjusted EBITDA for
the second half of 2012 which remains our primary financial goal,” said Mory
Ejabat, chief executive officer at Zhone.
Zhone Technologies posts $27.1 million revenue for Q1 2102
Earlier, Zhone Technologies reported revenue of $27.1
million for the first quarter of 2012, against $29.6 million for the first
quarter of 2011 and $33.4 million for the fourth quarter of 2011.
For Q1 FY12, the company posted net loss of $3.4 million
compared with a net loss of $2.4 million for the first quarter of 2011 and a
net loss of $4.6 million for the fourth quarter of 2011.
