TE new DAS supports public safety and first responder frequencies

TE Connectivity (TE) said its new distributed antenna system (DAS) solution supports primary public safety and critical first responder frequencies in the VHF/UHF/700/800/900/TETRA bands on a single system.

The new DAS solution provides high-reliability coverage for public safety communications services for both in-building and outdoor applications.

Peter Wraight, president of TE’s Wireless Business Unit, said: “With collaboration from Fiber-Span, TE developed this solution to ensure life safety protection for the public as well as police, firefighters and other first responders.”

TE will showcase the public safety DAS solution at the DAS & Small Cells Congress in Las Vegas, Nevada on June 17-18. The solution will be available by Fall 2014.
