Telecom Lead India: Tata DOCOMO has launched traffic SMS
alerts for its pre-pay and post paid subscribers in Bangalore.
Tata DOCOMO subscribers can avail this VAS service by
opting from a range of packs at Rs 30 per month, Rs 10 per week or Rs 1.5 per
day.
This value added service allows Tata DOCOMO subscribers
to choose start and end location while selecting the time to receive real time
traffic information.
In order to receive alerts the customers are required to
configure these options. These options can be configured through the product
interface thus making this value added service device independent. The alerts
also include the speed at which traffic is moving along with the different
stretches of the road. The services will also keep customers alert of road
accident & event information.
AP Sriram, chief operating officer, Karnataka Circle,
Tata DOCOMO, said with increasing demand on work-life balance it is important
to be alert and aware on external factors.
