NTT Communications buys 85% stake in data center services provider Gyron

Telecom Lead Europe: NTT Communications has acquired 85
percent stake in Gyron, a provider of data center services in the United
Kingdom.

NTT Com said it will continue to build global strengths
aiming to achieve group operating revenues of at least 1.5 trillion yen (12
billion pound), including a doubling of global sales revenues, by 2015.

To support the expansion plans of Gyron, NTT Com will be
subscribing for additional equity in Gyron.

Gyron provides a range of colocation and connectivity
services to enterprises and service providers, including large corporations
such as software companies Adobe and Symantec, and the innovative subscription
music streaming service Spotify.

The acquisition of Gyron’s data centers will enable NTT
to strengthen the group’s cloud-based one-stop ICT solutions in the UK,
Europe’s ICT hub, and enable the NTT Com group to further accelerate its
offering of increasingly diverse global cloud services.

Existing Managing Director, Robin Balen, and Operations
Director, Ben Miller, will retain a combined 15 percent ownership of Gyron.

“We look forward to working with NTT Com and
delivering on our expansion plans. Existing and future customers will benefit
from this significant investment and the continued provision of our high
quality and flexible wholesale and retail colocation services,” Balen
said.

The expansion of multinational business operations is
increasing the worldwide demand for seamless one-stop ICT services, including
the managed operation and maintenance of networks, data centers, servers and
applications.

NTT Com, under its Global Cloud Vision, is leveraging its
strengths as a telecom operator to provide total ICT outsourcing services, from
networks and data centers to applications, all on a seamless, end-to-end,
one-stop basis, to meet customer needs for cloud-based ICT systems.
