Telecom Lead America: Metaswitch Networks, a supplier of
communications technologies to network service providers, has named John Lazar
as CEO of the company.
John Lazar was previously CEO of Metaswitch through
February 2010, and subsequently Chairman of the Metaswitch Board.
The company said that outgoing CEO Kevin DeNuccio will
continue to evaluate strategic initiatives of Metaswitch. Moreover, Kevin
DeNuccio and John Lazar will remain on the Board of Directors.
Lazar said that the Metaswitch brand is built on
developing and supporting high quality solutions that meet the network
challenges faced by communications service providers.
“As the competitive, technological and
regulatory landscapes shift, Metaswitch is committed to providing products and
services that meet the evolving business models and needs of these network
operators. I’m here to focus on these key deliverables while Kevin’s energy,
vision and passion can now seek out complementary opportunities,” Lazar added.
Metaswitch expands association with Huawei to include licensing
of DC-PCE
Recently, Metaswitch expanded its association with Huawei
to include licensing of DC-PCE, Metaswitch’s Path Computation Element software.
Metaswitch’s DC-PCE, along with its GMPLS software
previously licensed to Huawei, provides the key building blocks for Huawei’s
Unified Control Plane, which powers the software for its SingleBackbone network
architecture.
