Telecom Lead Asia: OSS/BSS solutions provider Elitecore Technologies has added Easy Connect feature that enables mobile operators to overcome last mile hurdles for offering Wi-Fi connectivity.
“Operators lose huge chunks of potential Wi-Fi revenues because some phones do not support EAP-SIM authentication, leading to a complex and cumbersome authentication. Elitecore’s mobile app caters to non EAP-SIM use cases as well as EAP SIM phones such as iOS. The user now has to only download the app from the marketplace and install it on his device for seamless connectivity to Wi-Fi services,” said Dhaval Vora, VP, Product Management, Elitecore.
The mobile app solution supports features such as one-touch connectivity, automatic connection to Wi-Fi, zero configuration for end customer and Wi-Fi status check at the time of connectivity.
Elitecore, which offers telecom products such as CRESTEL Billing & Revenue management, NetVertex Policy Management & EliteAAA Solutions, has also introduced Wi-Fi Offload Location Awareness Module that assists operators to assure Wi-Fi availability to walk-in users at events, hotspots, university etc. for a specific period of time. As soon as the users come within Wi-Fi range, they are alerted about available Wi-Fi zone via SMS.
The solution maps the subscriber IMSI to its MSISDN sending subscriber preconfigured SMS with login credentials, redirecting him to operator portal where the received credentials can be used for enjoying mobile Wi-Fi services. Moreover, the solution also applies location-based policy through bundling with NetVertex Policy Manager.
For other use cases like non-smartphones which are Wi-Fi enabled, where operators cannot do without a Captive Portal, Elitecore offers a captive portal with enhanced rich reporting capabilities.
Elitecore claims that it has executed mobile broadband deployment, mobile data offload (3G-Wi-Fi), IMS/ Packet Core Deployment, VoIP roll-outs, Converged Data networks roll-outs, Convergent Prepaid Postpaid roll out and other Turnkey deployments for Tier 1-Tier3 operators.
