EastNets partners with Qtel to launch mobile remittance service in Nepal

Telecom Lead Asia: EastNets Remittance, a provider of
Mobile Remittance Solutions, has expanded its service coverage to include Nepal
through its association with Qtel, a global service provider headquartered in
Qatar.

 

The partnership will allow customers to use the Qtel
Mobile Money service to transfer money to Nepal, benefitting more than 200,000
Nepalese who reside throughout Qatar.

 

Hazem Mulhim, CEO of EastNets Group, said that the
company is launching the new mobile remittance service to Nepal in
collaboration with Qtel.

 

He added that the company will continue to expand the
scope of our services to allow more people to enjoy the benefits and advantages
of the en.MoRes technology platform.

 

Himalayan Bank is the only bank in Nepal to be certified
for SWIFTRemit. The service will offer  a 24/7 facility to transfer funds
instantly to Himalayan Bank, which provides instant connection to 2400 payment
network and a/c credit to 32 major commercial banks in Nepal.

 

The bank has its proprietary remittance service branded
as HimalRemit and payments sent through en.MoRes network are paid through
HimalRemit system in Nepal.

 

en.MoRes will also introduce a new online remittance
service to provide a multi-channel platform for supporting international
person-to-person (P2P) remittance services based on the innovative en.MoRes
technological solution.

 

The company aims to cater 200 million estimated migrant
workers around the globe that send money to their homeland on a regular basis.

 

Qtel and Nepal Telecom launch new telecommunications hub in
Doha

 

Earlier, Qtel and Nepal Telecom launched a new
Multi-Service Point of Presence (PoP) for Nepal Telecom.
