ComSource receives $11 million contract from a telecom operator

 Globecomm Systems announced its subsidiary, ComSource has bagged a
one year equipment acquisition and engineering services contract from a
telecommunications service provider valued at up to $11 million.

 

The company has
received funding in the amount of $8.6 million and the customer has an option
to provide additional funding for the remaining amount throughout the contract
term.

 

“This contract award
represents an exciting new direction for our laboratory testing services and
growth into the machine to machine (M2M) testing marketplace,” said Byron
Parker, president of ComSource.

 

ComSource will provide
acquisition services to acquire selected telecommunications hardware and
engineering support to provide laboratory independent, verification and
validation testing services.

 

Globecomm is a global
provider of satellite-based managed network solutions offers a comprehensive
suite of system integration, system products, and network services enabling a
complete end-to-end solution.

 

As a network solution
provider it leverage its global network to provide customers managed access
services to the United States Internet backbone, video content, the public
switched telephone network or their corporate headquarters, or government
offices.

 

A few days back, wireless
infrastructure major Ericsson selected Globecomm Systems as a subcontractor of
the maritime GSM/VSAT managed operation for an Ericsson mobile communication network.
